Innovative profile design with iGT technology
The tread design with iGT (Interconnecting Groove Tread) technology features a more even distribution of tread grooves in the contact area, which distributes pressure more homogeneously, optimizes tread stiffness and ensures that the tyre maintains its performance throughout its life. The tread grooves absorb water quickly and efficiently to maintain grip and handling characteristics even with increasing mileage. The new tread pattern derives more water than the previous tyre, especially at higher speeds.
Next generation of the 2-component rubber compound
The advanced MultiTread tread rubber compound is a unique tri-polymer blend with high silica dispersion and is particularly resistant. On the one hand, this increases the mileage while simultaneously increasing wet grip. On the other hand, the tread is more flexible, especially at low temperatures, which gives the driver more confidence. This is especially important for a sports-touring tyre, which is supposed to give a first-class feeling and feedback in all weather conditions. The middle of the tread has longer, high-molecular polymers that increase the bond strength of the rubber and thus the mileage.
New rayon carcass and optimized contour
The RoadSmart III features a brand new Rayon carcass and a new contour that gives the driver a precise steering feel and requires significantly less steering power. The RoadSmart III also offers a homogeneous tread pattern and thus significantly higher mileage thanks to the harmonious rolling behaviour of front and rear tyres.
