Dunlop launches the new SportSmart² Max Hypersport tyre, the successor of SportSmart².

Dunlop focused on four core areas in the development of the new tyre: rayon carcass layer and wound aramid belt, optimized profile design and reworked transition to the flank, newly developed rubber compound and multi-thread technology on rear tire.

Rayon carcass position and aramid JLB belt on the reels of the Aramid tyre gives the front tyre a first-class performance with reduced warm-up time, and its durability has been increased by 25 percent compared to its predecessor. In addition, it has been possible to optimize its handling characteristics at low temperatures.

The newly designed tread pattern also contributes to this, providing the driver with excellent feedback, especially when steering in and significantly reducing the torque required to brake in bends. The stepped transition from the tread to the flank in the substructure also gives the driver a feeling of high stability in particularly fast corners.

In order to improve the wet performance of the new tyre without affecting the dry grip, Dunlop has developed a new rubber compound with tri-polymers and highly dispersible silica that is able to increase the contact area. This is of primary benefit to adhesion in wet and cold conditions. Dunlop's own measurements have shown a four percent increase in wet grip compared to its predecessor tyre.
