Description
The new MICHELIN Pilot Road 3 for sports touring use provides great grip in almost all conditions, particularly on wet and damp roads, whilst also achieving good mileage. In the case of the MICHELIN Pilot Road 3, the engineers at the Michelin Technology Center developed a completely new sipe technology for the tread area - so-called "X Sipe Technology" (XST). This technology is effective in two regards: On the one hand, the sharp-edged sipes cut through the film of water on wet surfaces. On the other hand, the wide tread grooves improve the displacement of water to the outside of the tyre. The MICHELIN Pilot Road 3 achieves good grip and high mileage thanks to the combination of two innovative technologies: Two-Compound Technology (2CT) with two different compounds on the tread and the new MICHELIN XST sipe technology.
